It's easy to:

  • Get lost in buzzwords

  • Miss the real potential

  • Ignore practical applications

The result?

You miss out on AI's true power.

Here is a quick update from Microsoft Ignites Keynote on AI agents from Satya:

  • Focus on practical use

  • Implement AI tools

  • Measure real impact

3 Key NEW AI developments Satya mentioned:

  1. New universal multimodal interface

  2. Advanced Reasoning and planning with neural algebra

  3. Long-term memory support for models

They are building this on 3 platform pillars:

  1. Copilot

  2. Copilot devices

  3. Copilot stack

Security is a top priority.

He likens AI will revolutionize knowledge work like lean did for manufacturing.

Adoption is key:

- More employees use, more value

- Knowledge sharing

- Measuring ROI

Copilot in action:

- Prioritize inbox in Outlook

- Excel for data analysis

- Advanced reasoning for strategic analysis

Copilot automated actions (or their agent function):

- Facilitates meetings

- Automates PM workflow and task assignments

- Self-service IT and support

SharePoint will have a built-in agent that can describe in natural language and connect to data sources. They can operate autonomously.

They even Introduced 10 new agents in Dynamics:

- Qualify

- Flag

- Send emails

McKinsey decreased onboarding by 90%.

Copilot connectors and agents offer:

- Alerts for cross-sell or upsell opportunities

- SharePoint repository integration

- Use of @mentioning like GPTs

ROI measurement:

- Copilot analytics

- Correlation capabilities of outcomes to agent use.

The future is here with AI.

Just like Agentforce (with Salesforce), I am skeptical until I can actually use the future to make sure it is real, however the ROI analytics feature alone would be game changing for adoption IMO.

🙌This week's podcast episodes...

In this episode of the Scale Up Show, host Ryan Staley and guest Alexander De Ridder discuss the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the role of AI agents in transforming industries. They explore the expectations surrounding AGI, the challenges of scaling AI models, and the profound impact AI will have across various sectors.
In this conversation, Ryan Staley interviews Alexander De Ridder, founder and CEO of SmythOS, an AI operating system that connects networks via specialized AI agents. They discuss Alexander's journey in the AI space, the lessons learned from competition, the importance of user experience, and the distinction between AI agents and traditional LLMs.

🤖OpenAI brings ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode to the web

OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode to the web, allowing subscribers to hold real-time voice conversations with the chatbot directly in their browser. Currently available to paying customers (Plus, Enterprise, Teams, and Edu), the feature offers nine voice options and uses GPT-4’s audio capabilities to deliver natural, expressive interactions. Free users will gain access to a monthly preview in the coming weeks.

😮Microsoft will soon let you clone your voice for Teams meetings

Microsoft announced "Interpreter" for Teams, a tool that enables real-time speech-to-speech translation in up to nine languages while simulating the user’s voice for a personal touch. Launching in early 2025 for Microsoft 365 subscribers, the tool prioritizes privacy by not storing biometric data and requiring user consent. While the technology offers cost-effective multilingual communication, it raises security concerns similar to those seen with deepfake misuse, highlighting the need for robust safeguards.
