One year after generative AI emerged, transforming technology interaction, employees are independently adopting AI at work to cope with high pressure, while leaders struggle with planning and ROI. AI is reshaping the labor market, highlighting a talent shortage and new career opportunities for those who upskill.

Despite concerns over job loss, AI is seen as a tool for democratizing expertise and enhancing decision-making. The Work Trend Index, in partnership with LinkedIn, shows 75% of knowledge workers use AI, with many bringing their own tools. Power users, supported by strong leadership, benefit significantly, emphasizing the need for organizations to adopt agile and skill-building strategies.

Microsoft announced a €4 billion investment in expanding its AI and cloud infrastructure in France, which includes building new datacenters, enhancing current facilities, and ensuring the integration of 25,000 advanced GPUs by 2025.

AI Skilling and Education: Aiming to train 1 million people by 2027, Microsoft will launch extensive training programs focusing on AI skills for job seekers, students, and professionals. This initiative includes partnerships with educational institutions and organizations like France Travail and Simplon to promote AI fluency and responsible AI development.

Supporting AI Startups: Microsoft will accelerate 2,500 AI startups through the Microsoft GenAI Studio program, providing AI expertise, cloud credits, and support activities. Anthropic will now allow minors to use third-party apps powered by its AI models, provided these apps include specific safety features like age verification, content moderation, and educational resources on safe AI use. Developers must also comply with child safety regulations and may face audits to ensure compliance.

This policy shift comes as minors increasingly use AI for educational and personal support, and as competitors like Google and OpenAI explore child-focused AI applications. There is a growing demand for guidelines on safe AI usage for children, with organizations like UNESCO advocating for regulations and safeguards in educational settings.
