  • Elon Musk's X launched Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini in beta, with improved reasoning and the ability to generate images, accessible only to Premium and Premium+ users.

  • Grok-2 models are expected to be available to developers via API later this month, with potential uses in improved search, post analytics, and AI-powered replies on X.

  • Concerns arise over Grok's image-generation capabilities, particularly regarding the lack of guardrails around creating politically sensitive images, which could lead to misinformation.

  • Google launched Gemini Live, a new voice chat mode for Gemini Advanced subscribers, allowing free-flowing, conversational voice interactions with multiple voice options and the ability to interrupt without tapping a button.

  • Gemini Live, initially available in English on Android devices, will roll out to iOS and other languages soon and supports background use and real-time video interpretation.

  • Google also announced upcoming extensions for Gemini, such as integration with apps like Keep, Tasks, and YouTube Music, and new AI features for screen and video context awareness.

  • Google Wallet now allows users to scan and store various IDs, tickets, and passes using AI to generate digital versions with all relevant details, making them usable like any other digital pass.

  • The new feature, called "Everything Else," replaces the previous "Photo" option and supports a wide range of categories, including business cards, IDs, and loyalty cards, though it's currently only available in the US.

  • Users can take a picture of their pass, let Google’s AI process and categorize it, adjust any details, and then save it in Google Wallet for easy access. The feature is rolling out gradually to more devices.

  • Midjourney vs. Flux: Midjourney generally outperforms Flux in generating realistic human textures, especially with the latest v6.1 updates, making it the preferred choice for creating realistic digital humans.

  • Flux's Strengths: While Midjourney excels in skin texture, Flux often produces better overall image structures, backgrounds, and text consistency, highlighting its strengths in these areas.

  • Midjourney wins due to its advancements in rendering human features, but Flux remains a strong competitor, particularly in creating well-structured and visually coherent images.
