Nvidia has launched Parakeet-TDT-0.6B-v2, a powerful, open-source automatic speech recognition (ASR) model that can transcribe 60 minutes of audio in 1 second on Nvidia GPUs. It tops Hugging Face’s Open ASR Leaderboard with a 6.05% Word Error Rate, nearing proprietary models like GPT-4o.
Built for developers, researchers, and enterprises
Supports punctuation, timestamps, and commercial use (CC-BY-4.0 license)
Optimized for Nvidia hardware, but runs with as little as 2GB RAM
