Image created with Dall-E

After experimenting with the DALL-E feature, key observations include the ability to upload and request modifications for images, though results may vary. DALL-E experiences frequent failures, and while ChatGPT exhibits abstract expressionism, it falls short of showcasing Artificial General Intelligence. The tool's responses are reminiscent of the HAL-9000, creating an interesting intersection of capabilities and limitations. The article invites readers to share their experiences with uploading images to DALL-E in the comments.

  • Over 20 new AI-driven features have been introduced across Meta's apps, enhancing search, social media, and business communications.

  • Imagine, a standalone image generator, uses Meta's text-to-image model, EMU, competing with models like DALL-E 3.

  • Generative AI is integrated into Meta's Marketplace, allowing vendors to enhance user experiences.

  • Meta plans to implement 'invisible watermarking' on AI-generated images for transparency and content misuse prevention.

  • Positive reviews have been received for the new AI capabilities, with emphasis on improvements in 2023.

  • Ongoing AI experiences, Llama language models, and research advancements are expected to enhance Meta's products, particularly for AR and VR applications.

  • Meta AI contributes to user experience improvements on Facebook and Instagram, including AI-generated suggested replies for content creators.

  • Despite dissolving the responsible AI team, Meta highlights AI model enhancements, including long-time memory and the incorporation of Multi-round Automatic Red-Teaming (MART) for content detection.

  • Google has launched Gemini, claiming superiority over OpenAI's GPT-4.

  • Gemini is a multimodal AI model optimized for different sizes and use cases.

  • It achieves state-of-the-art performance in 30 out of 32 benchmarks and surpasses human expert performance in multitask language understanding.

  • Gemini seamlessly reasons across text, images, audio, and video, outpacing competitors.

  • It possesses advanced programming skills and outperforms GPT-3.5 in chatbot benchmarks.

  • A fine-tuned version of Gemini Pro is integrated into Google's ChatGPT, known as Bard.

  • Gemini is featured in Google's Pixel 8 Pro smartphone and will be deployed across more products and services in the coming months.

  • Marinaki faces challenges in translating image descriptions for text-to-image AI systems, dealing with biases, such as gender and ethnicity, and navigating algorithmic shortcomings.

  • Despite biases, Marinaki believes AI can significantly contribute to data optimization in construction by suggesting ideal parameters.

  • She translates aspects of Greek culture into AI systems, highlighting the importance of human input to convey the essence of culture.

  • Marinaki's reimagined Athens receives positive feedback from her community, seen as nonrealistic images that inspire and provoke thought.

  • She views technology as a tool to preserve and recreate traces of the past, emphasizing the need for a healthy relationship with AI and regulatory frameworks.
